Tony Strazzara is a consulting actuary who brings over 10 years of experience working in various insurance contexts. He started his career as a pricing analyst at Nationwide Excess & Surplus, focusing on rate reviews and new business pricing. From there, he joined Actuarial Strategies & Tactics (AST), a boutique consulting firm focused primarily on small-group stop loss. At AST, Tony was promoted to the Director of Actuarial Services and ultimately made a Principal. After AST, Tony served as the VP of Actuarial and Financial Reporting at Benefit Commerce Group (an Alera Group company), until he ultimately founded AIA in November 2022.
AIA maintains a diverse book of clients, ranging from niche reinsurance companies to domestic insurance brokerages to international insurance carriers. The scope of insurance products and work scope is equally diverse, ranging from portfolio-level analytics to financial support of specialty P&C coverages to underwriting strategies for fully-insured group health plans.
Tony maintains three credentials with professional actuarial associations: he is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS), a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (FCA), and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
Tony is married and is a proud father of 3. Tony lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he enjoys the warm weather and abundance of outdoor activities. He graduated from the University of San Diego, where he studied mathematics and business administration. Tony was a 4-year starter on the USD baseball team, and he is still an avid baseball fan today. He also enjoys hiking, pickleball, and golf.
Blake Scholz has been with AIA since June 2023 and continues to support Tony in various projects and tasks. Blake is currently a student at Northern Arizona University studying finance and actuarial science. Currently in his junior year, Blake has passed his first actuarial exam (Exam FM) and is excited to continuing pursuing credentials with the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Blake lives in Peoria, Arizona during the summer and in Flagstaff, Arizona during the school year. He was a 4-year player for his high school golf team, and still enjoys playing today. Blake also enjoys watching and playing sports, spending time with friends and family, and learning new Excel shortcuts.
